Being managed by a project manager, a project plan is very important tool to build goals, strategies, actions, resources, and specific project tasks. After completed in defining the project vision and strategy, it will be better if the descriptions of the specific plan can help the team to complete the project within the schedule while meeting performance and cost goals. And it can be used for future planning documents when a format has been established for project planning.

  1. Create the project’s scope and give a project description and goals, including a brief statement about time and cost.

  2. Design an effective breakdown structure. This part will divide the project into 3 parts; manageable parts, enables assignment, and control of specific items.

  3. Improve a project schedule and identify key milestones and details. Then, set a budget to predict the cost overall and each specific phrase of the project based on the scheduled items.

  4. Operate a risk analysis, including a possible risks and how the team plans to cope with it. To complete this part of the plan can possibly cause risks to the forefront and make team member handle it in a more proactive way.

  5. Explain any plans for outsourcing. It will be very helpful to improve interfere plan, authorization plan, and procurement plan if you plan to outsource for any parts of the project. For the interface plan, it tells how external connections used in the project and the work authorization plan tells about the process for approval, release and completion of tasks. The procurement plan manages with goods, services, and the details within the scope of the project when to request and achieve their use.

  6. Design your own stakeholder management plan describing how each member of the team will be managed, including communication and proactive planning schemes. The team members or skills required to meet the stakeholder plan should then be explained in a separate human resources list.
